Occupation*the oldest sheet metal worker in Kalamazoo when he died in 1938. Martin made the metal boxes which were placed in the cornerstones of the old courthouse and the former Presbyterian church in Kalamazoo. When he was 17 Martin learned the trade from John De Visser, for whom he worked for five years. Companies he worked for were Prindle and Larnard, Edwards and Chamberlain and Holland Furnace. He also had his own plumbing and heating business at the corner of Portage and Second streets. He retired in 1927.
