Occupation* | an executive secretary at Briggs Beautyware and later at Borg and Beck, a division of Borg Warner in Sterlings Heights MI
Anecdote | Aunt Marie (Uncle Jesse's Marie) was an awesome cook. I have a few recipes. Mike took me out to Lake St Clair, bass fishing, & she did up the filets in short order. I remember watching her make lemon meringue pie & cautioning me against anything in a package or box. It was so easy, she said, to make it from scratch & the taste was incomparable. She was always so kind to me after my mother died, especially. What a lovely woman! Beautiful, poised, elegant & hard-working. A magnificent housekeeper. But I remember her cooking as absolutely stellar. Mike's wife Lisa is similarly spectacular in the kitchen & in any variety of ethnic food types. I would have hated to compete with his memories of "mom's cooking," but Lisa excels.
Anecdote | She loved to garden, cook and bake and was a Master Canner. She made the world's best German Christmas cookes. Marie also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, golf, bowling and playing cards (and had belonged to the Schulte Card Club when she lived in Roseville). She truly loved and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.
Anecdote* | Lidwina Geiger told Mariana early in 2000 that Marie still lived in her home on Hazelwood and they enjoyed getting out to play pinochle. Later that year Marie moved near her son in Traverse City because of health concerns.

We talked almost everyday sharing our hopes and dreams but also our fears and regrets. I'm glad I came to see you when it meant something to both of us. Remember we said if we can't see each other when alive don't bother when I'm dead. As I celebrate my 80th birthday I feel only a deep sadness that hopefully will go away in time. You have touched so many lives with your glass half full attitude. Your laugh and your political views you weren't quiet about. He will be missed by so many. I love you. Norma Jean"
