Marriage* | 22 November 1942 | Alexander V. Patchak Sr.; MI |
Anecdote* | Rosemarion made all of her daughter, Sandy's, costumes sewing hundreds of sequins on them, for the figure skating shows of the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club. She still has a thank you note from her Aunt Sadie Schulte for which Rosemarion sent a ticket to one of the performances -- Rosemarion always saw that her aunt got a good seat to the shows she so enjoyed seeing. Scott Hamilton, gold medal winner, was once the club's guest skater before he became famous. He called Rosemarion, "mom."
Association* | In 1998 Rosemarion was the February Volunteer of the Month of the St. Clair Shores Senior Citizens Center. At that time she was completing her second year as president of the Senior Center Shores Board. As chairperson of the Decorations Committee she made the centerpieces for all the parties held by the group. For the last three years she also designed and decorated the floats for the Memorial Day Parade, which won two trophies. While on that committe, she and her late husband Al also made nearly full-sized palm tree, which were used for other parties as well. She and Al worked to put on the first big roast beef dinner in the center's new kitchen. Rosemarion, always ready for a party, helped dress the men for their skit as Hawaiian dancers at a luau dinner dance and a fun fashion show. Rosemarion also served on the St. Clair Shores Zero Tolerance Coalition, which set up guidelines and programs to prevent smoking and substance abuse by the city's young people. Rosemarion traveled with the Senior Center group trip to the Soaring Eagle Casion in January 1997, saying, "and I lost as usual -- my vice." Other volunteer activities included the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club's secretary, chairman, and coordinator for the annual ice show for ten years; secretary of her neighborhood association; served on the AARP Travel Committee; and has always given her time and talents to many volunteer efforts.
