Her houses, all sold save one family heirloom, rival the finest mansions. The heirloom has a grandfather clock that ticks, a player piano that works, two chandeliers that light, rooms of furniture, shuttered window boxes filled with violets and needlepointed rugs -- most hand crafted by Violette. In 1995 the house was on display for weeks at the Wyndham Retirement Apartments where Violette lived, drawing large crowds of admirers. | |
