Anecdote*Anthony was of German parentage with his father one of the pioneers of Clinton County. His father, crossed the Atlantic with his wife, Theresa in 1840, lived in Detroit, then settled in Clinton County in 1842. Anthony set up his own household in 1884. His farm lied in section 35 of Dallas Twp consisting of 120 acres, 80 from his father in 1887. He built a beautiful residence and had excellent accomodations for his stock. His first wife, Mary Simon, died in 1889 leaving three children: Dora, William and Ludwig. Anthony is a Democrat and belongs to the Roman Catholic Church.
