Anecdote* | He was a former Christian Brother, was dedicated to social justice and marched with Martin Luther King, Jr in Washington DC in 1963. Over his lifetime, he donated more than 29 gallons of blood; he tutored in a literacy program; taught catechism; was a Cub Scout Master; worked for Habitat for Humanity; volunteered with meals on wheels in Shelby Township for more than a decade. Mike joined the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Team in Training in 2009, raising over $75,000 for cancer research by riding over 1400 miles on bike rides all over the United States. He found great joy in his cycling activity and made many close friends who shared his love of cycling and his dedication to cancer research. He loved sports, games, nature hikes, bike rides, canoe trips, sledding, skating, designing, building, inventing, creating. | |

The game tips off at 7 p.m. in the St. Casimir Gym, 800 W. Barnes Ave. Proceeds will provide tuition assistance funds for families who attend IHM-St. Casimir School. Mary was a former teacher and assistant principal who died in 1988. Each year, the Goeddeke family participates in this fund-raiser.
