She loved classical music and played the piano until very near the end of her life.

Liz and Dick moved to Eugene OR in the 1960's. She taught English for several years at South Eugene, North Eugene, and Creswell high schools.
After she and Dick were divorced, Liz enrolled in graduate school and also worked for the Lane County CETA Program, ultimately as the program director.
After completing her doctorate, she established a successful private practice in clinical psychology in Eugene. She retired in 2006.

Anecdote*

She was a marathon bicycle rider, a tireless hiker, and an avid traveler. In middle age with her three brothers, she hiked the Chilkoot Trail in AK and summited Mount Whitney in CA.
Later in life with her partner Barb, she visited all 50 states and 30 foreign countries.
She a book almost every day, as well as reading the daily newspaper and many magazines.
