Words of comfort compiled and written by Sandy,
read by Deacon Ken Nowicki at Al's memorial

  • Don't grieve for me for now I'm free.
  • I'm following the path God laid for me.
  • I took his hand when I heard him call,
  • I turned my back and left it all.

  • I could not stay another day,
  • To love, to laugh, to work, or play.
  • Tasks left undone must stay that way.
  • I've found a better place, with God to stay.

  • Perhaps my time here seemed all to brief,
  • Don't lengthen it with undo grief.
  • Lift up your hearts and be happy for me.
  • God wanted me now,
  • The suffering and pain are no longer with me,
  • You see my friend God has set me free.

  • My life has been full,
  • I have enjoyed so much,
  • I was blessed with a loving wife,
  • And known a daughter's special touch.
  • I traveled to faraway places.
  • I have known many happy faces.

  • If my parting has left a void,
  • Then fill it with remembered joy.
  • Promise to smile when you think about the things you now miss.
  • Friendship, laughter, a silly dance, a touch, a kiss.

  • I leave this world knowing I was truly loved, that so many cared.
  • I take with me the million memories of all that we shared.
  • I have entered my new life as a millionaire.

  • My last breath did not say goodbye,
  • My love for you is truly timeless.

  • I have left my memories, my laughter, and my dance, to those I treasure.
  • My parting gift to you is a gift beyond that of measure.
  • Be not burdened with grief or sorrow,
  • Enjoy my wish for you, peace, sunshine, sunsets on the water, and happy tomorrows.

  • Al, Al, Everyone's Pal
