Her sons were William and Benjamin Stewart and Lincoln Benshoff. 1910 census data for Black Twp has Lincoln Benshoff, age 50, single, b IA, father b U.S., mother b Germany, cement mason ; Odelia, mother, widow, age 75, mother of 4, 3 living, b Germany, parents b Germany, so Odelia's birth year would have been 1835.
Residence1900William Stewart; 325 Spring, Kalamazoo, MI
Note*Although Jane married Garritt Herrick, a local baker, after Benjamin died, there are records with the surname Stewart or Stuart for her and her children with Benjamin. Jane and her children are buried in the Stewart family plot at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo. So, Jane did not keep the married name Herrick. Also, Benjamin must have been married prior to his marriage to Jane, because of the dates of Benjamin's and William's birth; as well, John Herrick was not the biological son of Jane.
